Shavuot(s) represents the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai to the Jewish people. How wonderful!!!! The Master of the Universe gave us the most precious gift in the world, The Torah which is instructions for living. A book which tells us how to live and acquire an AWESOME life filled with happiness and meaning. Our connection to Hashem/The Almighty is observed in its GREATEST fashion by studying the holy Torah which includes the Talmud, Writings, Prophets, Midrash and of course the many holy commentaries including the Rambam, Ramban, Shulchan Aruch, you name it! It's a HUGE Mitzvah to write your own Torah, purchase your own Torah and/or purchase Seforim/Jewish books.
The BJC - Bellaire Jewish Center has tons and tons of wonderful Jewish books here at the Center and we encourage each of you to come by and study them. You are welcome to study together with me, another Rabbi, friend or by yourself. Recently, we were able to dedicate most of the Talmud thanks to a generous group of supporters and they fulfilled a Mitzvah of dedicating a sefer/book as well as honored a loved one in their dedication.
We have made this Mitzvah extremely reasonable and accessible to everyone by offering a dedication of one book at only $36, 3 books at $100 as well as other opportunities. Grab this wonderful Mitzvah before Shavuot and of course help the BJC spread the joy and meaning of Judaism to our fellow Jews in Houston, Bellaire and beyond.
